I either read an article or saw a TV segment about this.  Profiled several of the towns.  Towns are dying and will lose schools, POs if they don't increase population.

Down side was that some families had a hard time making a living.  There are some restrictions of course.  Have to agree to stay there for some period of time.

It might sound like a great idea for Katrina refugee who got on a plane to an unknown destination, and ended up in Utah.

I read that some of the Katrina refugees are being held in an internment camp/National Guard secure training base in Utah, so that a town in the heartland might be a reasonable solution.  2nd link to the outrageous version of the story.  No information on if it's true.

WOW!  Thia is amazing!  Yes, I agree - hard to get work probably, but a great place to retire!  I'll have to pass this on.
