These here is God's finest scupturings! And there ain't no laws for the brave ones! And there ain't no asylums for the crazy ones! And there ain't no churches, except for this right here!

GOOD!  serves them right - hopefully they throw the whole criminal bunch in prison & throw away the key!  And while they're at it, all the politicians might as well get in there, too!

Here's a link that is must reading about the economy  re "Comprehensive Annual Financial Report"  - I wrote about this before, but it really sheds some light on how the citizen is being shafted!   http://www.newswithviews.com/Devvy/kidd432.htm

"ARE THE STATES REALLY BROKE OR HIDING ASSETS?"

But, are the states really broke?

At least ten years ago, a man named Walter Burien began exposing something called a CAFR: Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. Walter managed to get on a SF radio show hosted by my friend, Geoff Metcalf. It was a real eye opener. Try as we all did, not one newspaper in the State of California would expose the truth of how the taxpayers were being fleeced. Nor would 99% of the radio stations statewide. I guess they all love being flogged every April 15th to reward the thieves in the state house.

"Some examples of CAFR reports are as follows:

California Government Category Listings   http://www.sco.ca.gov/pubs/index.shtml#stagovrep
California local Government CAFRs  (google CAFRs for every state & city)

"As a guide for you, here is a potential surplus review conducted of just "exclusively" for CA State government Inc., conducted in 2004 by Gerald Klatt, a retired Federal Auditor of 30 years that you can use as a guide for a 2009 CAFR review of just CA State Government - and then you can take a look at the some 4,500 other local government AFR's or CAFR's which in composite totals will dwarf the state totals...

Not a fan of Barny, but if it was up to me who to let him loose on to it would be on those CEO's for sure!

I'll skip the political rant on Mr. Frank.

Watch what they do, and not what they say.
He is one of the reasons we are in this mess.

My opinion on todays charade, it was the lions interrogating the wolves.   Voting records are open and available for review.  Google has quotes from these clowns in October.  This is nothing more than political theater.

I couldn't agree with you more Muldoon. They'll get a week or so of less than violent swings in the market because of this supposed deal today.

But every day, I'm more convinced that we are in for the worst ride this country has ever seen.

There's still money to be made in the market (huge moves are the shorts delight) but so what if the cash isn't going to be worth anything.
I made a joke yesterday that everybody thought was funny...except me.

I found a ten dollar bill in the pocket of a pair of work pants I hadn't worn for a year. I left it as a tip in a restaurant and told the waitress it was only worth six dollars now.

I grew up on capitol hill---my step father was a member of congress and a committee chairman----all congressional hearings are, in truth, an American version of Soviet show trials. They are carefully scripted media events. I have advised corporate executives on how to behave in one----You must listen closely to the committee staffers during their preliminary interviews with you----they will reveal, but not too blatantly, what your "role" is to be. You may be cast as either a "villain" or "a good guy"-----and god help you if you don't play your part faithfully. I have had executives ignore my advice and try to provide information or explanations of fact or technical facts in their defense----the committee is NOT interested in that kind of stuff. Remember, almost all the members are lawyers as are their staffers and they will not ask a question they don't already know the answer too ( or know the answer they want to hear from you). I have watched my executive get their heads handed to them when they discounted my advice and others who survived nicely by "playing their part faithfully".

Like pro wrestling, eh?

Good comparison Glenn.
I remember my favorite wrestler in the 60's, was a fellow named Brute Bernard. I think he went on to Congress. :-\

They are obviously smarter than politicians.  Jesse Ventura actually has a clue what is going on.  A smart guy. d*

Barney Frank is lower than the scum you'd find on your boot. The kind of scum that would run a male prostitution ring out of his own house ( links below ).The only reason hes still in Washington is because he sold his soul a long time ago.

I think we all should be suspicious this guy is spearheading the reforms and grilling the CEOs. Makes sense though, if you were trying to turn this country into a socialist dictatorship, you'd want inside men who keep up the appearance of "representatives" working for "us".
