Passed Final Inspection

I passed my final inspection today on a modified version of the 20x30 1-1/2 story cabin. My father and I started building in January of last year. We did everything from the mudsill to the roof sheathing. First time building a house.

The house is 20x36 ft with 12 ft walls. Standard balloon frame. The kitchen and staircase was swapped for larger code compliant staircase. It has a utility room for washer and dryer with a back door.

Building in Shenandoah County Virginia.

There is a bedroom and full bath on the first floor. The second for has a bedroom, loft and half bath.

Great looking place. The 12 foot walls look like the way to go for 2nd story head room!

Thanks. The 12 ft walls give us 15 ft across with 5 ft knee walls and over 9 ft at the collar ties.
