I bought the eccotemp L5 shower. I would really like to set it up inside but, per instructions, it's outdoor use only. Is there a way I can safely set this up inside? Add a vent? My walls are 7" thick logs, btw.

Also, any tips on a homemade shower? I have seen some with the corner pan and then marine grade plywood with a lot of poly on it. I would like to stay away from the traditional corner stall ala home depot since most of the cabin in wood I feel like that would really stick out in the corner.

I have a wooden shower and used to have a wooden bath in my UK house, use good timber / marine ply- glue and screw using coated screws and waterproof glue.

then sand and prep and use a clear boat resin, instead of varnish- if you make the structure stiff enough you won't need cloth

just layer on the resin the first coat should soak in - lightly sand between coats, the final one you can sand and polish to take out the brush marks.

I think my showers on its 8th year ish as the base although since tiled over.

The water heat....yep depends on wether you like carbon monoxide poisoning or cutting holes in your logs !

I saw your post of the shower on another thread.

It looks great. I don't know if I really want to redo or have to tile it in 5 years though. One question I have is on the first picture you have glass on the left side; is the front open or did you use another piece of glass with a hinge on it for a door? Also, is it plexiglass you used for the walls?

I only tiled over it as I rented it out and to make it more normal looking

being in a hard water area it needed regualr cleaning to get rid of the calcium deposits, which the first tenant never did.

It was'nt a nessesity to tile over.

the side panel was plexiglass held in place at the top with a wire and tension bolt.

The end I never enclosed as the shower was deep enough that it did't spash out, I did buy a pole and curtain just never fitted it
