He has been wanting to go since he was 3.  I took him up during deer season last year but we just walked around and talked.  This year he came up after Thanksgiving and joined me in the stand on a few hunts and on two still hunts.  On Saturday afternoon we saw a group of 15-20 pigs come up from the north-west pasture treeline and both of us were so excited our hands were shaking.  Even though my 270 holds four rounds, and I know I shot all four of them ... when the dust settled only three pigs were on the ground.

Shawn did ok during the cleaning part, better than his older sister did the first time she watched it.
I think I got him hooked.   :)

Kudos!!!!!!

It's important for kids to understand where food comes from, and that for us to consume meat a life must be taken.  I think that it reinforces respect and is a great lesson in practicality.

Nice job, and nice story.

I had some boar sausage once in Texas.  It was might tasty.

Side note:  Mexico announced last week that they were going to kill 50,000 wild boars that have invaded from "el norte".  You might have seen that.
New Mexico.  Better than regular Mexico.
