wall Sheathing overlap?

I couldnt fine this in my framing book, but what is the recommended number of inches of overlap for wall Sheathing over the foundation wall (just past the mud/sill plate)?

I think it depends on what's below the sill plate. If it's a slab floor where concrete is immediately below the sill plate I believe the general recommendation is to end the sheathing at the bottom of the sill. Otherwise you can lap it over the rim joist to tie things together better and resist more air movement, but how far is recommended I don't know.

This is block foundation for a crawl.

There is no set distance.

 6" from grade / dirt to  wood is  a code.  No wood , other than PT ground contact,  shall be closer the 6" from dirt.

 Normally I run the sheathing to the bottom of the PT plate , but there are reasons to do it differently.   I them run the siding 1/2" below the sheathing.

That being said there are many different situations that would make a guy do it differently.

I remember it too, I just can't remember from where. IIRC there was a piece of flashing in between the foundation and the sheathing.
