a friend of mine brought this to my attention, it was the topic of an interesting conversation this weekend.  just pointing it out for others...

That is interesting.  It seems like that is a mild pattern over the past 100 years. After a dip of half the value loss, 4-5 years of growth followed by another dip of around 25-30%
