attaching a front porch

 I can build the porch. Just am not sure how to attach it to an existing 6/12 pitch roof.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There are many ways to do this depending on where the porch roof would hit the existing roof.

The easy way is to cut off the rafter ends at the wall line, install a ledger to support the porch rafters and take off from there. Then you just flash under the old roof and over the top of the new.
