Does anyone here have experience or opinions about using Pumicecrete for outer structural walls?  It is a wall technology that is available locally in northern New Mexico, and appears to have some advantages in terms of structure and insulation.

Some information is at:

Nope. We have friends who have been planning on using pumicecrete for about 8 years now, though. They've never got any further than planning and the acquisition of a gas powered mortar mixer and some forming that someone else used in a project that also didn't get anywhere. Seems labor intensive as I recall.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

I'm thinking best contracted. There do see to be a few contractors around Santa Fe and Abq.  Also there is some reference I saw to pumicecrete building blocks, but I don't see any sources.
