I had been getting quite a few unwanted "pop-up" advertisements for the last day or two . . .   Computer was starting to run really slow.  Finally I was unable to access the internet completely.

There has been no new software added to my computer. . . Possibly an unwanted e-mail.

I have Windows Defender installed, and an anti-virus - anti-spy ware from CA Inc. installed.  The CA anti-spy ware would recognize the virus and then quarantine it.  After rebooting the virus would just startup again.

I have restored my computer to an earlier date . . . Seems to be working so far.

I just wanted to give everyone a "heads-up" on my possible solution.  Hopefully my personal data has not been compromised.

Removal of the beast.... info & instructions

CA Inc. indicated on my scan that the "virus" originated from 2-spyware.com.

Be aware - Beware that some on line anti-spyware software contains spyware . . .

Well crap. I removed the info. I know Malwarebytes is a bona fide tool with no bad stuff.
