Need some advice

I am creating a plan 24x32.  The gable ends of the roof are along the 32' side with the front entrance on one of the 24' sides. The porch will take up 8' of one of the 32' sides giving a 24x24 living area with an additional 12x7.5 appx area on the same side as the porch for a dining area.  I am using BHG V8.0 and cannot get the roof to change pitch so that there is a different roof pitch over the porch and dining area.  Can someone please help me with this?

I don't use the computer for drawing but am guessing that you have to make the roof into two separate sections or the house into two separate buildings joined to each other to be able to change pitches on a section of the roof.
