I wonder if there are any changes in the 2006 or later IRC versions?  ???

Thanks for the link.

I was a little surprised to see that 9.5" rise is OK for a spiral.  I might have rethought my loft stair design with that info.  Oh well.  c*

Fortunately in NY, the code allows for treads as short as 9" and risers as tall as 8 1/4"

This is real useful for a cabin where there isn't a lot of room.

It still really bugs me that codes aren't online, since everybody needs them if they are going to plan or build.  stairways.org is doing a service here.
