This is not a political forum and I apologize for this tread, but I have something to share... and it's good news!

http://www.debka.com/article.php?aid=991

If you want you can skip my editorial below and just read the article above...

But, here are my thoughts:

As some of you know, I've been very involved with the Middle East all my life and feel the cultural conflict going on there is probably the biggest "tipping point" in the world today. Nothing is more important to the future of the planet - not energy, environment, global warming or the world economy.

Those problems will take care of themselves if the world can retain a civilized path of basic trust and interaction.

It is also my opinion that one of few cultural evolutions to come out of the 20th century was the invention of the "truth and reconciliation" process developed in South Africa in the 1990's. It is a codified process of legal and cultural forgiveness (see: http://www.irisfilms.org/longnight/ln_history.htm).

This process may be coming to the Middle East! and I have long felt it is probably the only way out of these kinds of conflicts.

All I have to say is.....Praise Allah!!! Allah Akbar!!!

Here is a fairly unbiased news site with commentarys allowed if you register.  Views from all over the world including Iran.

My take on the Iraq situation is that the people don't trust Allawi and view him as a US puppet.  I don't see peace coming to the area as long as the US is there, however we are currently building 14 bases there from what I gather so we have no intent of leaving.

Since this is Johns site and he wants to talk Middle East I assume we are allowed this one thread ???

Debkafile has--or had--a reputation for being the propaganda arm of the Mossad.  I hadn't looked there for a long time.  Although I enjoyed, and took with the scepticism I reserve for most sources many of their analyses.
