Things are coming along slow but sure, but when I went to put the 5/8 plywood on
the roof of the garage, I see that the clips are designed to produce a gap.
I am assuming that this is for expansion so the plywood doesn't buckle. If that is true,
should I be creating a gap where the sheets meet at the rafter? I was trying to make them as tight as possible until I noticed this gap with the clips.
Thanks for any help, it certainly is appreciated.

I don't gap sheathing at the ends , but yes that is part of the H clip deal , the  little gap.

In the good old days we just butted the sheets together , up to and touching , no forcing things.

If your roof gets wet for a long time or leaks you have other issues.

Now don't get crazy and wedge the sheet tight but up to and touching is normal.
When in doubt , build it stout with something you know about .

Thanks Peg!
It just seemed a little odd not to have everything sealed up tighter than a cats behind in a sand storm.
But then i am used to welding things together.

Smilies should just double click in the message and they should appear.  If smilie is from the outside, you have to load them to Photobucket then paste the IMG tag here.

Ok, what am I doing wrong?
I doubleclicked on the dude scratching his head and all I got was two sets of the question marks inserted into the text buffer.
Bruce

I guess nothing. The little dude decided to show up after I posted the message.
Thanks
