Well now, Albuquerque, across the Rio, is getting some new street signs.  :)  Illuminated signs. They look very nice and I will admit they will stand out at night. They will be installed on the major street corners.

My gripe is that the old plain green painted metal signs are priced at $150 apiece, while the new illuminated signs cost $2000 each.   :o

Seems to me the roads themselves need some attention more than the installation of pretty signs.

A city spokesman is on record saying that the new illuminated signs will make it easier for Police and Fire to find streets. Now, if the Police and Fire can't find the major intersections without illuminated signs I believe there is a deeper problem needing to be addressed.

Sigh. .... Off to the mtns tomorrow. That'll get my mind off crap.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Wait until they start telling you how much they need a new facility for the police and fire departments.
