John Raabe can you widen the 1 1/2 to 24 ft

couldn't you use the same joists that are in the saltbox, or is it more complicated than that. thanks Mike
ps. just brain storming i would prefer to widen it to 24 to be sure to meet county requirements any suggestions??

Yes the saltbox plans have the beams and interior footings designed for the midspan support. And the span of that house is 24' wide.

Closer to what you would want to have for a 24' wide 1.5 story would be to use the layout of the 20' Universal Cottage which already has the option for an internal beam/bearing wall with interior footings. Then just do a quick recalc on the loads and footings for the 24' width. Wouldn't be much different.
