Prefab Post and Peir ?

I remember seeing a link where a prefab post and peir set up using something like a plastic conical form and long pins.  If I remember correctly you bury the form a few inches,  then sledge in the long pins,  pore cement and then put on your beams.

After several searches I haven't been able to relocate the link or other info.

Anyone remember this one?  Good for cold climate or not?
