UPDATE Things are going well with the 20x40 2 story house, pics will be on their way sooner or later!

My question is this. I think I can get a guy from town with good basic skills to help me and do some things when i am not around for 10 bucks an hour or so. But what happens if he gets hurt working? What kind of insurance would I need to protect myself and what would I expect to pay for it???

If you have a temp service in your are (most do) take him there and hire him through them. That way their insurance will cover him for workers comp. You will have to pay about $2 an hour extra but they'll handle the taxes and insurance.

Good plan.  I use temps when I need an extra set of hands.

Course you could always use them ill eagles and swear you never paid them to work for you if needed!
Never knew of one yet that would want the world to know he was not here legally anyway. And they are
NOT the best workers either.
