This being the one year aniversary of the great Ohio valley hurricane, my interest was piqued by the Oct. issue of PM.

There's a feature on homesteading and a visit to a family in a fero-cement earth-berm house.

A primer on raising chickens, including building a coop.

The funniest thing was a survival checklist.  The no. 1 item to have on hand was beer.  It's better than money in an emergency.

I haven't had a chance to read it yet.  Will be taking it to the SSA office tomarrow while I wait to straighten out my wife's check.

money is paper with greenish tint that some corporation (fed reserve) prints out and loans to us with intrest... and you can't drink or eat it...


i like beer...  gets friends over in a jam
