Got an odd question:  Does it make any difference whether outside corners must be dedicated to load bearing walls or if it is acceptable to make the outside corners part of the non-bearing walls?  Me personally, I cannot see any reason it would make a difference...next week I get some time to play.

That's an interesting question, but I think we would need more information about this particular application to answer.  A drawing would probably help the most.

What is it about this situation that makes you want to make an outside wall non-load bearing?  And where will the load bearing wall be located?

A gable end wall where the roof rafters and floor joists span the same direction (and don't bear on the wall) is non load bearing - that is it is supporting only its own weight. This can mean much smaller headers.
