I went to Ohau for a couple of reasons....

First off to see Hawaii. The other was to see the the place where the USS Maryland was berthed during the attack. My father was stationed on the Maryland briefly in 1939... well before the stuff hit the fan. Yet so little is known about the Maryland.....it went on to see WWII to the end. And was scrapped in 1959.

One of the other reasons.......well to lay around on the beach!

I hope this trip was a blessing!

We have been to Pearl Harbor many times. . .    Taking the launch to the Arizona.   It was always a somber, tear jerking trip.

. . . said the focus was safety, not filling town coffers with permit money . . .

I see in the news that the newer parts of the memorial opened today for the 69th anniversery. They were doing final spit and polish on it when I was there last week. Maybe I'll see it next year.....on the 70th

I shall return.
