To prevent uncensored versions and information from getting out, BP had to impose stringent security measures and heavy clampdown of "dissidents".  Unadulterated insiders' videos had to be smuggled out using innovative means. If this is not an "Independent Police State" operating within the United States, then authoritarian states like North Korea and other of the world must be "Freedom Paradises". What a paradox? The world's foremost champion of freedom of information sanctioning pockets of "communist regimes" within her sovereign borders?

What are the chances of 3 accidental deaths of 3 prominent figures closely associated with the disaster in the last 3 months? The late Matt Simmons died in a hot water bath on 8 Aug; Ex-Senator Stevens in a plane crash in Alaska on 10 Aug and Jim Black, a BP incident commander for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill response team in a plane crash in Florida on 24 Nov 2010. No doubt more deaths will follow.

He makes the case about depression, and it being wholly linked to the idea of why more than half of the country walks around in a daze on self induced drugs to cure them of their depression.   

Depression has several causes, clearly-defined, clearly-traceable, clearly-provable, clearly-curable. The main cause of depression is simple: it's cognitive dissonance. That's a fancy way of saying, you have two ideas that don't mesh and are at war with each other. It's a way of saying, you've swallowed a lie or a pack of lies, and they're poisoning you from within.

That is a generic approach, but it rings true to me.  People get depressed when what they believed has been crushed.  Told:

"marriage is forever" only to see it not.
"this is a good company" only to see it not.
"your parents love you" to see it not.

Different people enter very real clinical depression on those .. every day.  How about:

"land of the free" only to see it not. 
"rule of law" only to see it not.

There are lies at every turn these days.  Being told one thing and seeing another create that cognitive dissonance.  It is too disgusting to comment on.  It is also too depressing to comment on.  Somedays I wonder if anything about this country I was taught as a child or young adult was ever true to begin with.

At least it is interesting to know that I am not the only one seeing through the lies.  Thanks for confirmation, people.

As to the depression and broken ideals, I am no longer depressed by this sort of thing and as I see more of it it just becomes easier to realize what is going on and face reality.  It helps me to see that we have ot look out for ourselves and our friends and stick together - prepare for whatever happens.


As to what good can come of this awareness, I posted some of this stuff a long time ago and a microbiologist friend changed their view of the job - maybe got into something safer as lots and lots of scientist types who know too much about the wrong stuff are quietly being sent to be with the above mentioned guys.  Government and Big Business are the number one consumer of scientist types - more ways than one.  As for Simmons above, all of his talk made sense- I followed his logic and knowledge - he knew too much and was blowing the official fairy tales.  Couldn't have him disagree with the official lies.  It is not safe to swim in your hot tub under those conditions.  [ouch]

I gotta say this wikileaks thing has me intrigued as well.  He has been leaking tens of thousands of leaks about the US gov for months and while the annoyance level was there it seemed he was off the radar.  Two days ago it comes out that he has 5gig of data on a major US bank.  Bank Of America specifically and intends to release this news within the next few months.  Literally within 3 hours of that news suddenly every pundit, every politician on the planet is calling him a terrorist.  Some are calling for his assassination.  (note, he is not a political figure, so the correct term is murder).  His sites were ddos'd at 10gig sustained, DNS records hosed, amazon dropped his records (at the request of Lieberman of all things).  Like I said, lies are everywhere.  While the situation is depressing, I know what you mean Glen.  Once you see the pattern enough, it becomes more and more easy to recognize who runs this show.

Yup - I have been watching Wikileaks also.  

It is pretty much agreed the world over that it is a propaganda setup to manufacture consent for whatever the elite and global leaders want it to- blow up Iran - bomb Pakistan with drones - expand operations in Yemen - whatever the elite wants Mr. Assange will leak. - a covert op to steer public opinion with just enough outrage by the politicians and government to make the dumber of the dumbed down  believe it.  The slightly smarter ones are not buying the obvious propaganda tricks.

Unfortunately the dumber group can be fairly large.

If WikiLeaks were really bad, why doesn't DHS, which did not hesitate to takeover dozens of domains this last week for copyright infringement, not take over WikiLeaks domain for "National Security?" Clearly, the US Government wants you to read the "leaks!"
