staining concrete

someone on here a while back gave some info on staining concrete.  was it copper sulphate that they used and what was the process for applying.  thanks.

Flooring places will sell gallons of acid stain in multiple colors too.  Some hints if you are thinking ahead :

1)  Use no curing agent on the concrete.  Let it dry under plastic.
2)  Don't over trowel the slab.  You want it to be a little open in texture.
3)  Don't use chalk snaplines on the concrete.  Some of it does not come up.
4)  Don't fear checks in the concrete.  After staining and sealing the main floor, fill in the checks with a concrete epoxy filler, paint them with an acrylic paint in a slightly contrasting color (same palette) and the checks will be stunning.  Trust me on this one!  It looks like a marble vein.
