Sound like a quote from Halloween? It is, but instead of Michael returning, it's those damned Westboro Baptist Church people. I did a photo esssay on them a month or so ago.

This time these nuts are targeting

Morgan Harrington who was murdered.

I suppose they've been lucky so far. If it was my son or daughter I wouldn't be using lawsuits to settle the issue.

Maybe if everyone ignores them, they'll make some Jim Jones Koolaid and go ...away!

"It's just so unexpected. We were really blind-sided by this. We have already had our daughter abducted, raped, and murdered, and now we have this postmortem attack. We never saw any of this coming," said Gil Harrington.



On April 9, Westboro Baptist Church plans to picket Virginia Tech -- saying the recent murder of one of its students, is part of a curse from God. They've linked the 2007 Tech shootings to that same curse.

An Albemarle farmer found Morgan Harrington's skeletal remains in late January after she went missing from a Charlottesville concert.

Why can't we pass a law to protect those in mourning from inflammatory actions?

We already have laws in place that impede on rights to free speech, such as inciting riots or treasonous behavior. 

Their actions are not to express themselves... they are to provoke a response that they can use to sue someone.

I think this is exactly the kind of attention they want from the Media as is it gives them some sort of credibility. Peternap, please don't take this as a personal attack as that is not how it is intended, but you indicate that you have covered them twice in one month. If they were not getting free press it would take all of the fun out of it for them. They certainly have the right to their 5th amendment free speech ( which is not free), but without the coverage, would they still show up? Why advertise the dates they are doing anything? I wouldn't spread the word for them in any way. except maybe to say the date had been moved to April 19th?

Actually, I agree to a point Chuck. the links didn't show in the copy I posted here, but the date was a quoted sentence from WWBT news.
I'm not going to be there and photograph it because if you've seen one Ahole, you've seen them all. They do like to see their pictures though.

I honestly expect someone to kill them soon. I would like to cover that.
