I need a favor.

I was in the swamp today and took some pictures. Nothing new about that, tomorrow it will be Tidewater.

What I'd like to know is who likes what and why.

I have several different versions of the same photo. There are thousands of changes I can make, but these point in one direction or the other.

If you could look at them and tell me you like Number X or dislike Number x and why, it would help. It's a known fact, I have no taste.

#1 Is nice. easy to view
#2 Too saturated
#3 Tint looks off
#4 Not so much. I like black & white when it has a old setting like a old truck or cabin.
#5 Very nice. Looks as If I were there.
#6 Blurry

Home is where you make it

Thanks Frank!
Maybe my taste isn't too bad after all. This is the result of an ongoing argument with several other photographers. Two are HDR fans which isn't bad but can be over done. I done.

#1 is As shot but The sun was still a little high.
#5 is a graduated filter to soften the sun a hair and enhance the shadows.

The others are various stages of over processing.

I looked at the whole row together and #2 immediately stood out as my favorite.  I rather like the strong colors and the warmth of the yellower lighting.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Thanks Don and Glenn.

Glenn, there isn't a right or wrong answer to this. Different people have different taste. The old saying, I don't know art but I know what I like, is pretty well true.

The idea of Photo's like this is to take someone that's never been there and make them feel the same excitement as the person who took it. One ig my bear pictures was when she was making a fake charge. It happens pretty often but was a little close that time.

The picture is shaky, crooked and you can see the tip of my gun barrel in it. NO ONE LIKES IT BUT ME.

That;s because I didn't do the job of conveying the feeling. I just remember it myself. :)

This is really just a snapshot I took one day. No one really jumps for joy over it, but since it's home, it means something to me. It's all about trying to find the persons likes and dislikes. If any of that makes sense. ???

I am also leaning a bit toward the number 3 picture.  It has the warm colors but not quite as strong.  The number 2 pix I relooked at and the yellows seem a bit strong.

I grew up in Oregon and dislike the gray dreary weather there on the coast - so that carries over into my likes in pictures.

Peter the first one is more natural.  I even like the B&W's on nature shots as well.
