Because the EPA is phasing out wheel weights, they are getting hard to find and expensive. I lucked onto 2400 pounds and got 1200. I am going back to get the other 1200 pounds now that I thought of it. It really is a better investment than gold.

The price has doubled and is still going up. The bad thing is that many places are using Zinc and iron now. They get mixed up with the lead. I haave to melt the WW's at under 600 degrees so the Zinc will not melt and float up. Takes a lot longer to make ingots that way.

This is how I spent my morning ;D

What are wheel weights going for a pound?

I got these for .40 but got a few hundred free.

The price had gone up to .45 the next day and some places are getting .70 with a minimum order of a ton. The best estimates are that lead will be completely replaced within 16 months for wheel weights so if you have a friendly tire man....keep on his good side.

What I cast today is  enough to do 7000 bullets +-...I would like to stockpile enough for at least 100,000. That should keep me until I meet my maker. ???
