We were going to make the city of Richmond obey the law this weekend. The Republican Convention started and I as well as many others, were going to wear my gun.
The City is still squirming and the fight is far from over, but they blinked. I was armed Thursday and yesterday and everyone will be today as well.

The VCDL did a good job reminding those fools that the Richmond Coliseum is public property and, as such, they can not prohibit firearms.

I've never been to the Coliseum, dispite living in Richmond for a while; does anyone know if they serve alcohol for on-premise consumption? If not, I would have just conceled carried in there to avoid the hassle. Or do they have metal detectors too?

They do serve alcohol Gent. That was one of the issues we had to deal with. It was a gray area and we decided to air on the side of caution, and only open carry (which is legal in bars,etc)

The idea was not to avoid being hassled, the City was breaking the law by not allowing weapons. We needed to drive the point home, that we won't be bullied.
There's more to come in this tussle. Now that the City is down, I'm going to give them a few kicks.

Ohh I know what the point was. I meant on a smaller scale. As in, if it was me and only me I would do that. Now if I was with a group of people from, say, the VCDL then I would open carry as everyone else. Which yiou guys were right to do, since they serve booze for on-premise consumption.
