can anyone find the crime here?

I can empty two 15 round magazines from my Beretta 92F in a matter of seconds, so it would not take long to chew through several hundred rounds in an hour. 30,000 rounds certainly seems like a lot of ammunition, but when you start firing it goes damned fast. I worked with a guy who was a competition shooter and he ordered his 9 mm ammunition in 5 thousand round batches. Sometimes he'd go through an order in less than a week because he was shooting over a thousand rounds per day practicing for a competition.

In this case it looks to me like they targeted a legal immigrant and are hoping to discover a crime, namely shipping weapons and ammunition to the Dominican Republic.

It doesn't matter so much how fast one can fire off the rounds, it takes longer than that to load the magazines.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

This story is really hiped up IMO

it doesn't say how many of which calibers

hell if it is mostly 22 that is only 20 or 30 'bricks' what's the big deal ?

the Mass law is sufficiently vague that it should be overturned IMO

Oh and the person that wrote the 'news article' probably doesn't knowwhich end of the gun the round comes out of

Clearly this man is an Extreme-Right Wing Terrorist for wanting to own a firearm and/or ammo. There you go. Thank you DHS! /sarcasm
BTW this is not DHS or the Federal Government.

Phssthpok seems to have it broken down pretty well.  These are local Mass. Laws.  What made most of this illegal was that he was not a U.S. citizen.  Whenever I moved or transported my guns across state lines to another jurisdiction, I checked the local laws.

Yeah I know, it was sarcasm, hence the goof "/sarcasm" at the end of my sentence.
