Nethog just bought me a new rifle.
Ruger Mini-14 Ranch, hardwood stock.

As we were in the Cabela's store I noted how dang expensive ammo has gotten. Not able to find any 12 gauge slug at all.

For some reason the Wal-Marts around here have 12 ga slugs more often than not.  ???

Mini-14's are nice. You can re-load your own .223 for cheap once you have the equipment.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

This is a new rifle for me. I need to spend some time with it and get to know her.

It is a heavy rifle for its size.

You should heft my son's new M1A; 11 lbs.

Too pretty to be a him.
Plus i am sure there is no such thing as a metro-gun, to confuse me. heh

MountainDon

If it was a Russian gun it would be a him. Just like their naval ships.

I guess I've always also thought of guns as female; as in "she's a beauty"

Guns must be female----since they too can go off without warning if not handled properly.   :)
