Does anyone know about getting RR ties

I know where there are huge piles of ties that have been replaced. I want to buy some but can't find out who in the RR sells them.
Any ideas?

You would need to contact the local roadmaster of the RR that changed them out. Norfolk Southern and CSX are the major ones in your area. RR's have various policies for tie acqisition but you might find you have to pay a small fee and sign a 'no fault' agreement. Sometimes they let you have as many as you like.....as long as you don't show up with a semi trailer.  ;D

Around here only a few upper-level people ever get their hands on them, and they sell the ties for $8 apiece...
