A short time ago we bought a new Toshiba HD flat screen TV. We're very happy with it, except for the glossy black frame around the picture area.

So I bought a spray can of Miniwax Polycrylic clear satin spray. I masked the image area as well as the side mounted controls and connectors, then sprayed on three light coats. Very much improved, no more reflections.  :D

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.
