A Gorn as I recall.  Seems he made his own gunpowder later to blow it up, but in the end he had mercy on it and let it go if I recall correctly.  PEG should know.

Naw....he shot him with a bamboo cannon using on-the-spot made gunpowder and diamonds. He just didn't finish him off.
I'd have eaten him. Lizard can be tasty. It is like Alligator though, gives you gas something awful!

We ate a rattle snake a couple years ago-- overcooked it a bit though so probably was not as good as it should have been.
