The report released Thursday estimates that between 126.5 and 128.5 million Americans cast ballots in the presidential election earlier this week. Those figures represent 60.7 percent or, at most, 61.7 percent of those eligible to vote in the country.

"A downturn in the number and percentage of Republican voters going to the polls seemed to be the primary explanation for the lower than predicted turnout," the report said. Compared to 2004, Republican turnout declined by 1.3 percentage points to 28.7 percent, while Democratic turnout increased by 2.6 points from 28.7 percent in 2004 to 31.3 percent in 2008.

Truthfully, I think the voting machines were set to favor Osama... I think the Elite chose him....

It does make you wonder Glenn.  The US Senate race is still going on in our state.  Started out with a 700 vote lead for the Republican on Wed Morning.
They have it whittled town to 200 votes or so now.  The number chances daily.

In one precinct they counted the absentee ballots twice.  In another, a worker mistyped 124 as 24. It really makes you wonder if your vote does count and how  careful they are to count every one.
A bad day of fishing beats a good day at work any day, but building something with your own hands beats anything.

I don't wonder.  It is a farce.  We will always end up with the chosen one whether or not it was who we thought was our choice. In reality we are not the ones making the choice.  We are given two options that can be worked with by those making the choice.

It's like a cowboy on a cattle drive with a cow dog.  Those who direct the US are the Cowboys.  The US government, POTUS etc is the horse.  The government controlled media is the herd dog.

The cattle..... that's us.  A great big herd of cattle who know they're alive and travel mostly together but allowed to mill back and forth across the range land.

As long as we wander in the right direction it is no problem.  The horse knows it's job and willingly carries the cowboy in the direction he wants to go.

The cowboy simply wants us going in the right direction.  If we get out of line the cow dog (media) is sent out to steer the herd in the direction it must go.  Strays are chased back into the herd.  The entire herd is steered to the left or right.  Coyotes who come in and try to steal a few are generally chased off or shot before they get to do much damage.  Strays know there is nowhere else to go so rejoin the herd.

How is the herd steered?

The cow dog simply runs around the herd barking and chasing them in the direction the cowboy dictates.  It is not much problem.  They just run scared from the little cow dogs barking.  Being the big dumb animals that they are, the cattle don't realize it would be simple to ignore the dog and do as they wish.  He would not be able to control a few who were smarter than the rest and strayed while he was busy on the other side of the herd, or the entire herd if they simply trampled him.  Not likely to happen as they are unthinking cattle and the cowboy usually feeds and cares for them.  They know the dog is always there with him.

They simply continue wandering oblivious to their surrounding but continually forward toward the cowboys goal for them.

Unfortunately cattle drives end up where the cowboy wants them to.  Either the barn to be milked or at the slaughterhouse  when they are not worth the cost of feeding any longer and there are profits to be made.

When I went up to that little touch screen and put my selections in their computer,....Not one time was I asked how old I was or what party affiliation I had,...................So where do the media "knowitalls" come up with their numbers on how certain demographics voted? Random exit polls?
I live and work in a small community and there are many people here that I am certain voted one way but if asked on the street would answer differently just to keep from causing friction within their own circles. That's the whole reason for having private voting booths isn't it?
The only numbers I can see they can be relatively sure of would be gross numbers and what is on the registration card and even then mine don't list a party. ???
I know of several people here in Ar. that didn't vote because they knew McCain would carry Arkansas easily and with this stupid "Electoral Vote" their vote wouldn't make a difference one way or another, ( I know that is no excuse,..BUT, You no how some people are!) It still bothers me that in this day and age that the people in lets say Yreka,Ca have their vote controlled be the people in the Bay area and L.A. Those two areas by population control the entire states 55 Electoral votes. And New York City controls the whole state which is actually quite rural. If they would at least divide the states into their already apportioned Congressional Districts people could at least take pride in winning their district and it would help people know exactly how their elected representative voted without doing a lot of searching and arguing ;)
I cut it three times and it's still too short.

I only skimmed this but it seems applicable and of interest.  Just found it before heading out for work.

For your review and comment.
