Is that you and your neighbor fighting to see who gets to fill out their gun registration first? :P...Calm down there is time enough for the both of you

Nope, not me.

One of those funny videos cutter finds.
I thought it might be you and one of your car parts customers. Your the one that likes rocks and pipes....calm down, refunds in the mail :P

They are dressed like SC retirees.

I find that hard to figure out, Peter.  You don't want to shoot em, but you have no problem smashing their heads in with a car axle.

Well, that's a simple one Glenn. Peter (Benevolence) just doesn't like guns, but he likes cars.

Actually I was impressed by the fact that this was a fist fight and not a gun battle.  ;D

.. asks me to let him pay to fix my truck. Considering I was not hurt and I figured I could fix the truck for less than $1000 I said yes.

That was Tuesday and I cannot get the guy to answer his telephone since.

Crap like this happens all the time. If I don't know the person why should I trust them to follow up on their word?  Why should I trust the contact information they give me? I don't; I'd like to, but I don't. Maybe it's not a very Christian attitude, but that's the way I see it. I've had a similar past experiences which is probably why I have the attitude I do.

Especially in cases like this where it's not your fault at all, I'd rather deal with insurance companies and let them deal with the guy. You don't even know if his hard luck story has a grain of truth to it. More than likely it's a song and dance routine and he regularly screws with people.

Similar crap happens with strangers dealing with strangers at a distance, buying and selling things. People get burned all the time.

I could be wrong and he could turn out to be an honorable gentleman. But I doubt it. Responsible people pull out their insurance card.

Sure does happen every day. The last couple of days, I've seen dozens of fraud alerts about sellers on the internet that don't deliver. Real shame people have to make a living that way. Gives the good sellers a black eye from the start.

Sounds like the guy set you up to hassle the wife he left for him -- two birds with one stone, eh?

I don't understand why you took him at his word (about him paying for the damage personally) and why you didn't insist on seeing that he did or did not have insurance coverage.   ???

If someone can't come up with proof of insurance I would call a cop for certain. Not having insurance is a red flag as to a persons character when it comes to the personal responsibility issue.  OMMV

You of all people should know better than to fall for that routine.
