Steven Leckart of Kevin Kelly -Cool Tools, interviewed me and put a nice article on Cool Tools.

There is also a link to the Underground Cabin Update where it says My home, so maybe more people will also wander around Countryplans and find something that interests them.  My original submission was the forum but they are doing a theme on books lately and Steve was very interested in Mike Oehler's book and the Underground Complex. :)

This is the place I get my camera recommendations from and Kevin Kelly is the author of "Asia Grace" - a large pictorial book of his travels in Asia.  I got the book a couple years ago.

HAH! I read that post yesterday! Cool Tools is a great site and it's in my feed reader so I see it daily.

Okay, let's learn something new today.  What, pray tell, is a "feed reader"?

Glenn:
Interesting interview and book review.

RSS feeds - they are like a list of daily news you can click on and they update all the time.  There are lists you can subscribe to or you can make your own.  I haven't done much with them so that may not be an exactly right description, but should be close.

I thought Steven did pretty good on this, Tony.

I have seen things like this get totally twisted but he stuck to the story well.  There were better pix though -- I think he wanted to show how it is possible to let in light.  That one was pretty early - has about a foot of dirt overhead - set into the ground about 4 feet and overlooks the other garden and earth covered roof, so it has a bit of everything in it.

I keep it on one of my tabs.  I have found lots of interesting things there and got the best cameras at a reasonable price from his reviews.  Lots of categories there if looking for something specific also.

Bang on the money.

I use www.google.com/reader a lot from work. At home I use Thunderbird for email and read the feeds that way as though they're email.

It's great if you read lot's of different sites since the feeds are only updated when the site is. Keeps you from checking randomly and wasting time.

Sorry to hijack the thread...

Impossible to hijack one of my threads, ListerD.  I consider the act of posting in the same thread to be providing continuity.  Aren't we all here to post replies? hmm d*

I'm not sure where all he's been -- a major part of Wired Magazine I think.

Found a Bio.  You are right.

"Kevin Kelly is Senior Maverick at Wired magazine. He helped launch Wired in 1993, and served as its Executive Editor until January 1999. He is currently editor and publisher of the Cool Tools website, which gets 1 million visitors per month. From 1984-1990 Kelly was publisher and editor of the Whole Earth Review, a journal of unorthodox technical news. He co-founded the ongoing Hackers' Conference, and was involved with the launch of the WELL, a pioneering online service started in 1985. He authored the best-selling New Rules for the New Economy and the classic book on decentralized emergent systems, Out of Control."

I really enjoy his Cool Tools site.
