Hello All-
I'm Tom- New to this site
Just ordered my 20x30  1-1/2 story plans from John and registered on the forum.
My goal is to get the cabin dried in by October 1.
I just realized I have been digging around this site for most of the day (not getting any office work done) looking at the wealth of information here and the friendly atmosphere.  I'm really excited to be here and look forward to learning from you all.  Thanks for having me. 
The cabin will sit on 20 acres in north central Washington State.

I assume that is the location of the cabin? Is that the view you will have.  Have you done any site work to date ie; septic, well electric?  You will probably spend a lot of time both at work and home trying to stay with the Jones's on this forrum.

Beautiful piece of land you have there. Good luck with your project. You will find many friendly knowledgeable people here. ( Durn site needs spell check) Lots of times I spend hours reading here but only post about things I have a small clue about. Still I find theres a better or different way that works just as well or better. Thats one of the many thangs that make this a cool place. Don and Glenn seem to have more stored away in their little fingers than I have in my whole head. I learn something new here everyday.

Welcome Tom!! Would love to see more pics of your property. Looks like someplace you could dig a hole and get Glenn to help put a roof over it and move in!!! (You gotta check out his underground house!!). I can see it on that hill in your photo looking back this way.
Actually, I didn't know there was land in Washington that wasn't covered in trees??

BoB, it does look like a good place to dig a hole, uphill patio, French drains, roll of EPDM -- he'd have a house.  Hopefully there are enough trees there.

Hi Skagit!  I lived in the Bellingham area for 12 yrs - 6 yrs next to the Canadian border off Guide Meridian on H St Rd & then off of Wiser Lake, south of Lynden, north of Bellingham.  Beautiful country, just got tired of so much rain & fog.

I recieved my plans today and am really excited to get started.
We will be over to the property this weekend and will work on placement of the cabin and general layout.

John-  Nothing done to the site as of yet- just raw land, other than the road in.  No well or power but power is pretty close.  I plan to be off the grid for the first couple of years.

Okie Bob- A few more pics.  Some trees but some grass land as well.

Sassy- The rain does get old- I agree.  Remember the old saying... "We don't tan here, we rust"
That is why we got the property on the east side of the mountians- 300 days of sunshine per year.

Near the Aspen grove looks like a good building area.  The trees mean there is water close by.

They are great to relax,  just hang a hammock and swing in a breeze.
