I was looking thru some of the old posts the other night and came across this link to a compound that was built using various small structures,  http://www.countryplans.com/Downloads/1000sf/alt-home-tour/
  Does anyone have any type of floor plan or more pics of this building?  Also anyone out there have any intrestering compound plans using the small house plans?

We have talked about it a little - it may keep you under building code minimums not requiring a permit -- especially if you forget to ask permission.

The tools to plan a compound of small buildings was one of the concepts behind the Big Enchilada plans and this site planning tutorial.

That said, there are lots of interesting compounds that could be laid out using small building plans.

That is a really neat building, but it's not at all friendly to anyone whose mobility is impaired, and I'd worry that the joints between the reverse-shed roofs and the main roof would leak or form ice dams.

This is sorta what I'm doing. Cabin + guest cottage + shop + garage, all seperate buildings.
