I have found one, sometimes two scorpions every night for the past week.
The day after the first night I found a scorpion I caulked every joint or opening two times, sprayed with 3 different chemicals inside and out and placed sticky traps on the floor in the corners.
It rained every day for months until a couple of weeks ago, and we havent had a drop since then.
Now that it is dry outside I guess they are looking for water.
The neighbors tell me they fight the same battle every year. (Welcome to East Texas!)
Does anyone have any tricks or tips to get rid of these stinging creepy crawlies?

Brings back memories of when we first  moved into this house in '85. At that time we were the last developed street; over the back wall were miles of undeveloped desert. It was nice as far as not feeling boxed in. But as well as scorpions we had tarantulas and black widows and coyotes. Neighbors cats and small dogs would go missing. Ditto some ducks. The coyotes we figure. Never lost any kids though.   ;D

IIRC, you need to handle the problem outside, before they get inside. We obtained some kind of granules that were spread around the house, using a broadcast spreader. It didn't kill the scorpions, it just discouraged them. I think about a ten foot wide swath was recommended; we did the entire back yard. We repeated the application 4 or 5 times a year. I believe it took a week or so to kick in. There was a liquid that could be sprayed for immediate use but we took the wait and see approach.  Inside we used some special for scorpions, glue traps. Soon the inside was a scorpion free zone. Score one for us.

Five years after that the area behind us went through another development stage. We stopped the treatment and found the scorpions must have been scared away with all the development. Now we have lots of neighbors, have mostly gotten over the loss of immediate open space and have none of the above listed pests. They're someone else's problem now.

I found a bunch of interesting info re pests of all kinds on bugspray.com.

I've used them as a resource for other things. Not sure if that's the same stuff we used decades ago or not. Hope it helps you out. G/L  (Glenn, they have suggestions on deer as well)

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

I just have the wife roll over on them, Jimmy.  :-?:-/

It's funny you said that.....
The first one we found was on her pillow.

Last night was the first night without spotting one!

Don't feel bad -- our neighbors, who have a half-million dollar house have them too.  We've had a couple.  It's just what scorpions do.

Fortunately ours are harmless cute little guys.  :)

Yeh, Glenn thought it was pretty funny - we were lying in bed & something stung my leg - I yelled & jumped out of bed - we turned on the light & partially pulled back the covers - didn't see anything - Glenn told me I was "imagining things..."

Turned off the light, few minutes later I yelled again & jumped out of bed - we turned on the lights, looked under the covers & I was told once again "you're imagining things"...

So, back to bed, lights off, all's quiet for a few minutes, then I hear Glenn yell & jump out of bed, turn on the light, tear the covers ALL the way off & there was the scorpion - back on my side of course  :-/

Notice, the covers never came all the way off the bed until Glenn was stung...  ;) :D
