I am new to the forum, so please forgive and/or move to the correct forum if this is not the correct place for this topic.

Next summer we will be building a 32x36 garage in Central Utah at an elevation of about 8,500'.  We plan to make it match the cabin located about 30' away that has the 9" Swedish Cope logs.  Does anyone know of a good supplier for the siding to match?  I know that an exact match is not going to happen and I presume something that large may not happen, which may be ok, but what would you recommend?  Will it look ok w/o chinking or should we still do some just for cosmetics?  Are there other factors that we should factor?  Do we need the underlay between the sheathing and the wrap when it is only a garage and not a dwelling?  Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Welcome from your neighbor state Idaho   w*

If you can not find anything there.  I can ask my buddy that owns a lumber yard but Idaho to central Utah is going to be costly for the freight.  I have heard there is a Amish mill in Montana up by Columbia Falls or Kalispell that will do some profile work but there again what you hear and what it is.  Is some times well fill in the blank______.

It would be a good idea to post some photos to give us a better idea of what the heck your look'n for......

As far as under layment between the sheathing and the wrap want are you thinking?   ???
Proverbs 24:3-5 Through wisdom is an house builded; an by understanding it is established.  4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.  5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

I assumed that the siding would go right onto the sheathing until I read the thread on here about the Central Utah 36x20 project.  It was mentioned on there that code required another layer, but there is where I wonder if a non-dwelling is different.  Local would certainly be almost required.  The normal lumber suppliers do not deal with the siding as it appears to be more of a mill direct from log cabin suppliers.
As far as photos, here is a pic of the cabin, garage will be to the left there.

Here is another sample, this is what Whisper Creek uses on their prefab cabins
