I bought a Garmin GPSmap 60CSx a few years ago, and just realized i lost the belt clip / mounting button.  I wrote to their customer service, and asked to purchase a replacement.

They only wrote back to let me know that they had just shipped out the parts I needed, at no charge.

Amazing.

My next GPS will also be Garmin.  That decision is maybe not so amazing.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Frank I just called them yesterday and got good service from the employee.  Can't say as much for the product instructions that were with the unit.  I got my son an Etrex bundled with 100K topo map.  Their manuel (if you would like to call it that) stated to use a computer to download it.  So after several attempts of failure I called.  Seems this unit does not require that. Just take the chip out of the card adapter and insert it into the GPS unit.  Why in the heck didn't the manuel state that rather than the other directions.  Tried for two days to download never going to happen.  I think the biggest problem is that the company only prints a quick start manuel and it doesn't include all of the info.  They are not the only ones several others do the same thing.

I've always had great service from them also.
I lost the CD to an expensive map program, called them and two days later had a CD at no charge.
