A while back John posted about going to Amsol. Mountain Don was wondering if it was really that much better than Mobil 1.

I wanted to switch to something that I could use in everything, all thecars, trucks, ATV's and motorcycle.

After a little research, neither Amsol or Mobil 1 will do that. The Motorcycle and ATV's have a wet clutch and require an anti foaming agent that neither have.....so the question stands. For the cars and trucks, is Amsol worth the additional cost?

I just changed the oil in the little car and used Mobil 1. I want to see if I get any better mileage and more important, if it will use oil now. It is fairly high mileage but uses no oil right now.
These here is God's finest scupturings! And there ain't no laws for the brave ones! And there ain't no asylums for the crazy ones! And there ain't no churches, except for this right here!

I'll be interested in the high mileage car results, Peter
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

We've been using Mobil 1 in my wife's 2003 Explorer Sport Trac since the first oil change.  240,000 miles later the engine is still going strong, and doesn't use any oil.  I'm a believer in it.
A bad day of fishing beats a good day at work any day, but building something with your own hands beats anything.

Never been an Amsol user, but have friends that swear by it.  That said, I've run M1 in my wife's '95 Grand Cherokee, and with 270K on the clock, it's still going strong.
