I'll probably get in trouble here... BUT!

Immigrant:  A person who leaves one country to settle permanently in another.

Alien: a resident born in or belonging to another country who has not acquired citizenship by naturalization (distinguished from citizen).

Illegal:  Prohibited by law.  Contrary to or in violation of a law.

%$#@()*&^%#@! - Yes - that's a bunch of cussin'!  I sorely wish that EVERYONE involved in the whole debate - not just this incident - would recognize the following points:

  • The people in question in these sorts of stories are crossing our borders by doing so illegally.  In contravention of the laws of both the USA, Mexico and some cases, Canada.
  • These people - for the vast majority - are not seeking permanent legal residence in the USA, therefore they are aliens, not immigrants.
  • Because they are both illegal and alien they should have zero rights that are afforded to a citizen (natural born or legally naturalized) of the USA.
  • However, they do have rights as human beings and they should be afforded those rights as they are deported back to the countries whence they came.
  • For those over staying student or worker visas are also illegal and are citizens of another country and therefore - by definition - alien.
  • For those that have a child while here illegally - If the illegal alien is NOT married, and if the child(ren) are under 18, issue the kid(s) a passport and they accompany the illegal alien parent as they are deported to their country of origin.
  • If the kid(s) have a citizen parent, the option of staying with that citizen parent is available.
  • And spare me the tears that loving families are being broken apart.  Might have given that some thought before/while fornicating.

A dichotomy for me is this rabid anti-illegal alien stance that I have - and this stance is against the media, advocates and politicians that coddle illegal aliens and this whole issue.  This is balanced against my more normal, balanced and --gentle-- live and let live attitude.  I usually see that there is seldom any issue that can be viewed in pure black and white.  I see 99.99% of things/issues as a multitude of grays.  One side has a point and the other has an equally valid point.  But not here.

They are here in this country illegally and every citizen should have the right to defend their property, themselves and their loved ones from assault and/or other intended harm.

Now I'll return to my normal left-leaning social liberal fiscal conservative self and let y'all get on with reporting the imminent take over of the USA by communism/Marxism/nazi-ism from that Kenyon - lacking a valid birth certificate - wanna-be impostor and reporting the occasional flying saucer and black helicopter sighting. [shocked]

And while we're at it, let's not overlook the real danger - the rampant greed that is called capitalism - by the richest .05% of the "wealthy".  They're the ones that are really destroying our future.
