I need to upgrade my cell phones, any suggestions on the best ones. Don't text just need a good phone to talk on. Need something with a loud ring. The one I have I can't hear it most of the time. Have a Sony Ericsson.

The answer is going to depend partly on who your carrier is.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

AT&T. Haven't decided whether to change carriers. Have thought about Verizon.

I get a new phone at every year at work. This year, we got fancier phones with a full keyboard and all kinds of texting and all that hooey. Big mistake! My old phone was much smaller, and the battery would go almost two weeks if I didn't talk much. The new one sucks the battery dead in two days, and it's big and heavy. The dumb thing is that we don't even have access to all of the gadgets the phone has, such as texting and wireless, so I'm carrying this POS around for nothing. Last year's phone was a Motorola; the new one is a Shadow- don't know who makes it.

Really like my Casio Gz One. It is Mil Spec and TOUGH  d*. Does what it needs to without the fancy stuff, shock and water resistant. The only problems I have found if dropped 25 feet the battery may have to be popped back in and it won't die so you may get tired of looking at it  c*.

With ATT the Blackberry is good enough on speaker phone that you can hear it about like normal voice and don't need to be a cyborg with the bluetooth ear attachment -but I got it for the internet too.  Regular sound quality is great also.  I'd say it is pretty excellent all around.
