I am wanting to build a water system for our cabin that includes, 2-1500 gallon plastic water tanks, a pump, and a pressure tank.
our water will have to be hauled in, luckily water can be purchased in bulk ~5 miles from our cabin.
does anyone have any examples of a similar system? any brand of pump or pressure tank that might be good for this application?
and of course pictures would be nice.
I will be putting this right outside the cabin in a completely covered shed off the cabin.
Thanks for any input,

Todd

I found a somewhat local tank dealer today, for 1-1500 gallon tank and 1-525 gallon tank $1150.00

We are using 6  275 gal plastic tanks. Four of them are up the hill from the house. They gravity feed one at the back of the house . Its hooked to a shallow well pump. Which feeds g the houttse. The sixth tank  acts as our hot water heater which is mounted over a outdoor wood furnace. It stays full all the time and has  coils of PEX  and copper pipe thats pressurized to bring hot water in the house . Hope this helps.

We have local shops named Tractor Supply.  We bought a 500 and a 300 "pickup tank"s and hauled water with the small one and pumped into the big one. The pickup tanks have pickup bed sized cut outs so they fit in the bed of a pickup.  I don't recall the brand on the tanks. They were white type of plastic, and a little over 1/4 inch thick.  For the pump we used a shallow well jet pump into a 10 gal pressure tank.  The brands on those two items were run of the mill hardware store stuff, so likely Wayne or Craftsmen.  I had a valves hooked up so I could move them and pump from/to both tanks.  The suction line for the movable tank was a corrugated plastic that handled the suction OK when pumping from the pickup bed height.

By the way, all those gallons of water get a little interesting sometimes back there in the bed.  We eventually went with a trailer for hauling water.

There is an unwritten law.  I bet like around here every numb skull in the world shows up for such a time as that.  Cows and deer jump fences just to jump out in front of you.  Farmers on tractors decide they need to stop in the middle of the road and chat.  People sit there all day at an intersection just waiting to pull out in front of you.  Yep.... been there!

Absolutely true!  Amazing with all that weight how easy it gets to skid the front tires in a panic move.

Also I noticed astidham you didn't say if you were hauling or a truck would haul it for you.  For us, we could get 500 gallons for 25 cents from the town, or it was about $70 hauled in.  They had this box you pumped in a couple of quarters than an overhead 3" line started pumping out the water crazy fast like a fire host.
