busted knuckles

Hi everyone.  Been lurking off and on.  Trying to decide on a design.  I was looking pretty hard at a concrete pier foundation. Looking online I found this....  http://countryplans.com/nyikos.html .  How would this fare as a foundation?  Holes filled with crushed rock,  to the frost line., then short piers poured.  Maybe bigfoot sonotube piers about 18 inches tall.  I want to build this,     http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/ian-lorne-kent-nomad-micro-home     but 12x20,  basicly 2 of these.  Side by side.  I will be building this in the okanagan valley.  The Canadian side of eastern Washington. Would wind be an issue with this type of foundation?
you know that mugshot of Nick Nolte? I wish I looked that good.

When a building is taller than wide there is automatically a wind issue, especially with this type of foundation.

What kind of wood is that deck made out of?
Is it a hardwood of some kind or is it stained pine?
Very pretty.
