Thinking about a gin pole, shear or tripod?  Take a look at FM 5-125 Rigging Techniques, Procedures, and Applications (http://www.marines.mil/Portals/59/MCRP%203-17.7J%20With%20Ch.%201%20z.pdf).

Something to think about adding is a capstan winch.  This thing (http://www.novajack.com/en/0107.htm#) with a gin pole or shear legs and there's nothing I want to build with that I couldn't lift.
