A wealth of info regarding low-tech water

I stumbled across a gold mine of info regarding water... DIY well drilling, pumping, rain catchment, irrigation, etc. These are all low-cost, low-tech methods that are being applied in third world countries, but could just as easily be applied on the homestead!

Solar disinfection of drinking water is easy using a clear plastic soda bottle and the sun.

Drinking (or eating) from plastics after they have been heated up, in sun is not a good thing. Chemicals as well as tiny particles of plastic leach out into the water, or food. Not good for the digestive system, or kidneys. One of the worst is BPas.

I was wondering about that... I've always thought water that had been warmed in plastic tasted bad. I'd use glass jars if possible..
