This past week-end we painted a house with 'low luster' latex paint.  Big mistake. d*  When it dried , the  'low luster' left the stucco way too shiny.  Love the color....hate the shine.  Is there any way to bring down the shiny without repainting?  I seem to remember something a long time ago about using a vinegar and water solution to dull paint.  Anyone know anything about this?

Does anyone have any ideas of anything to do that is easier than repainting?

Thanks
Trish

I wonder if you could use one of those liquid deglosser products.... I would check with a local professional paint store like Sherwin Williams or something. They can probably help you right out.  I would however bring either one of the cans of the product you used with you or at least the specifics on it as I bet the solution is going to be really dependent on the product that you actually used to paint in the first place.

I'd give a couple of months Trish. The shine may fade a bit. Lots of paint looks shiney when it's fresh but dulls over a few weeks.
