Hi all,

I'm still working on planning for the land I'm purchasing this year, and am wondering if folks have feedback around this: My plan is to start out with a small cottage (haven't decided yet, maybe the Builder's Cottage) where I will live while I build a larger house. The latter is the one that I'm finagling with with regards to the structure and floor plan: Ideally, I would have it set up as a duplex (realistically for tax & zoning purposes, a dividable house with a door that will be deadbolted shut) to accommodate two separate independent places.

Here's my question: Of the plans available here, which ones lend themselves most easily and cost effectively to a setup like this?

The other thing I've been thinking about would be to do some sort of add-on situation.

When I searched the site for anything related to "duplex," these are the two main/most helpful ones that came up:

Any ideas/info are very much appreciated! Right now I'm mostly trying to decide which plan(s) to buy, and what type of setup makes the most sense given this goal. I'd love for it to be relatively straightforward to build. Cost is a huge factor too.

Thanks so much to everyone here; This site is a really excellent resource.
