Coupeville houses

John, it strikes me that the two houses next to 20 as you're leaving coupeville are excellent examples of quite modest yet charming houses from the days of yore. I of course don't have a snapshot. Do you have any photos of the pair to show here?

This is fairly hilarious on my part, but they're the blobs right in the middle of this photo:



Next time I'm on the road past there, I'll try to take a couple of snaps.

I know the two houses you mention and have some old snapshots of them buried in the film archives. I've wanted to stop and shoot some digital shots more recently. Next time I head up the island I will try to stop by.

That building and the two Northern cottages you posted above have the basic layout of the 20' wide 1-1/2 story cottage plan - a 10' to 12' high sidewall from which springs the steep gable.

It's a very classic shape — much like the house that most kids draw in the first grade.
